There are many basic elements of Jewish life that are taken for granted, both large and small.  For the majority of Shluchim living outside established Jewish communities, these basics become luxuries they rarely experience. For the child of a shliach living in a small town or foreign city, spending a weekend with friends or going to an overnight camp are just some of these “luxuries.” They rarely have friends who understand the hardship of growing up in this environment.

It is the mission of The Shluchim Office to see to the needs of the young shluchim.

The Shluchim Office was established in 1987 at the request of the Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory.

Beginning in the mid 1980’s, the network of chabad Lubavitch Shluchim saw exponential growth, with an average of six new couples moving out each month. The need to establish a central organization and resource center for the global network of Chabad Lubavitch shluchim was becoming more urgent, and it was for this purpose that The Shluchim Office was established.

During the past thirty years, we have pioneered many initiatives and programs that are today staples of Shlichus and the life of a Shliach. In particular, the programs benefiting the children of Shluchim such as the Nigri International Shluchim Online School, the Chinuch Yaldei Hashluchim division, the Tzeirei Hashluchim Winter Camps and the Kinus Tzeirei Hashluchim.

The Tzeirei Hashluchim Winter Camp was created to allow the children of shluchim an opportunity to spend quality time with other children who not only understand their situation but share the same challenges.

Same is for the Kinus Tzeirei Hashluchim. It is a unique opportunity for the sons and daughters of Shluchim to draw the same energy and inspiration as their parents do from each year's Kinus. The annual Kinus Tzeirei Hashluchim is for boys and girls, Grades 3-8, with a full schedule of well-planned activities, learning, farbrenging, trips, a visit to the Ohel and more. Throughout the weekend, the children are in a warm, chassidishe environment, supervised by dedicated staff.
